Yesterday at 6:20 PM, #HonoluluFF responded to the portion of the H-2 Freeway where a mini van collided with a parked excavator causing it to catch fire.
Fire crews arrived at the incident near the Mililani exit to find a lone passenger in a van as well as an adult female and 4 children outside of the vehicle.
It was reported that the van left the roadway and collided with the excavator that was parked in the cordoned-off construction area.
One lane was closed as firefighters attended to the incident. The fire was quickly extinguished.

KAUAI: First responders conducted multiple rescues in Lawai during Wednesday's heavy rains and flash flood warning:
AT 1:35 PM, #KauaiFF reported to Lawai Road near the National Tropical Botanical Garden where two females in a vehicle were stuck on a flooded portion of the road.
The water elevated 2.5-feet above the roadway, thus disabling the car. Firefighters were able to help both women exit the vehicle and to higher ground with no injuries reported.
THEN AT 2:25 PM, another vehicle was swept into Lawai Stream near Kua Road with a man and dog inside. #KauaiFF from Kalaheo, upon arrival, found that a good Samaritan had already retrieved the man from the car and brought him safely to the streambank.
There were no injuries reported for the man but there were no signs of his dog.

First responders on Kauai conducted multiple vehicle rescues in the Lawai area during Wednesday’s heavy rains and flash flood warning, according to county officials.
TODAY #HonoluluFF extinguished a 2-alarm fire at Cheng's AC Service and Auto Repair shop.
Firefighters responded to the 8 AM alarm at Cheng's AC Service and Auto Repair shop on Dillingham Boulevard to find smoke coming from the single-unit building.
Dillingham Boulevard was closed in both directions between Kokea Street and Alakawa Street but has since reopened.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
