Our members showed up for Mayor Richard Bissen.
He walked the whole line, shook every hand, and took the time to talk story with our guys. Even had a keiki up on someone’s shoulders for the occasion.
And when the Maui Fire engine rolled by, the whole line lit up.

This one could have gone bad.
A fire at a homeless encampment, right up against a storage yard and the businesses next door. Maui Fire Department crews got hose lines in, worked it through the smoke along the fence line, and held it to that one patch.
Lucky the brush was still green. A dry month and a windy day, and this is a different story.
Blessed to have these crews. Engine 6 Waipuʻilani, Ladder 14, and every MFD member who worked this one: mahalo. An amazing job out there.
